Our trip to South Africa was jam packed with things we did – yes I did say to go with the flow and keep it light with the kids but we had planned where we would be staying and how far we would be driving each day not what activities would fill up those days.
I really wanted to share this itinerary with you guys because of all the questions I have received to share how we managed such a big trip with little kids. We were able to squeeze so much more than we had planned by using our tips and tricks with little ones
After a week of relaxing on the beach and sipping cocktails by the poolside at the beautiful Dreams Las Mareas (read my blog post on this!), we were ready for some adventure. Taking the AC coach from the Liberia bus terminal to San Jose was an excellent decision because we got to drive through the countryside and every bit of it was breathtakingly beautiful.
With only a couple of hours drive from Toronto, Niagara Falls has been our go-to destination for years. We go there realistically every few months – either to take our guests for a day at the Falls, or to celebrate New Yearโs Eve, or even a weekend getaway or just a day trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The thing is โ even though we had 3 days in Austria โ we wasted the first day just sleeping. We had an overnight flight from Toronto to Vienna and none of us had slept through the flight because Myrra was too excited to be on an airplane and decided not to let anyone sleep plus there was a 6-hour time difference!
Fun fact: This destination was our layover on way to South Africa and to break up the long flights from Toronto to Cape Town, we took a 3 day halt in Austria.
